Family:  Sciaenidae (Drums or croakers)
Max. size:  30 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; brackish; marine
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: Gulf of California to northern Colombia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in shallow areas but not common in brackish waters with low salinity (Ref. 9118). Feeds mainly on benthic invertebrates (Ref. 9118).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 21 February 2020 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
