Family:  Opistognathidae (Jawfishes)
Max. size:  12 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: Gulf of California to Panama.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits sand-rubble bottoms (Ref. 11482), in about 20 m depth (Ref. 27115). Feeds on benthic and planktonic invertebrates (Ref. 11482).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 24 May 2007 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
