Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: both ends of Lake Malawi (Ref. 4991).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  The young are very common on Namalenje Island, Malawi at an average depth of 6 m. Feeds on invertebrates being sifted from the thin layer of sediment on the substrate (Ref. 5595).
