Family:  Carangidae (Jacks and pompanos), subfamily: Caranginae
Max. size:  40 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; brackish; marine; depth range - 30 m
Distribution:  Western Pacific: Indo-Australian Archipelago, the Arafura Sea (Ref. 9819) and Papua New Guinea (Ref. 6192).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults inhabit coastal waters, sometimes in estuaries or river mouths (Ref. 3132).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 10 March 2015 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
