Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: Congo basin: Cuvette Centrale, parts of the Ubangi and probably also in the lower Congo basin (Ref. 7431). Also reported from the Kouilou-Niari in Ref. 7431, in contrast to statements in the text. Absent from the upper Congo above Kisangani, Camerounian parts of the Congo basin, and from the Chiloango, OgoouĂ© or Chad basins (Ref. 7431).
Diagnosis:  Anal soft rays: 104-118. Caudal vertebrae 52-58.
