Diagnosis: |
Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-13. Paracanthocobitis maekhlongensis is distinguised rom all congeners by the combination of the following characters: male with suborbital groove; pelvic fin usually (20 of 23 specimens) with 7 rays; dorsal fin with 12 1/2-13 1/2 branched rays; thin dorsal saddles with light spots in centers connected to irregular spots on side of body; and large round black spot near dorsal margin of caudal peduncle (Ref. 102002). |
