Max. size:  11 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: Lake Tanganyika.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Gregarious, form schools of several hundreds of fish. Feed on zooplankton that are present in the open water column above the rocky substrate (Ref. 7343). Females brood their young in the mouth (Ref. 86760).
