Family:  Xenocyprididae (East Asian minnows)
Max. size:  21.9 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Chao Phraya (Thailand) and Mekong basins.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Usually found as scattered individuals in shallow and medium depths of large rivers. Feeds on zooplankton and insects of larger size than seen in other members of the genus. Used to make prahoc (Ref. 12693).
