Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 120 - 1055 m
Distribution:  Southern Ocean: South Georgia Island and the Crozet Islands.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 62-66; Anal soft rays: 57-62; Vertebrae: 68-74. This species is characterized by the following: no pyloric caeca; terminal mouth; weakly notched pectoral fin; opening of opercle extends down to 1st-3rd pectoral fin rays; head 18-20%, anteanal distance 28-31% SL; peritoneum black, stomach dark brown (Ref. 44814).
