Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range - 1290 m
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: coast of northeast Tasmania, Australia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 62-62; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 55-55; Vertebrae: 66-66. Caudal-fin rays 9; pectoral girdle with 2 radials, lowest notched; first dorsal ray interneural between neural spines 4-5; chin pores in small unpigmented pit, almost touching; lower end of gill opening and uppermost pectoral ray level with lower half of pupil; pectoral without rudimentary rays; head 18.6% SL; preanal 33%; body light brown with variable pattern, peritoneum black (Ref. 42734).
Biology:  Found on the continental slope. Benthic (Ref. 75154).
