Max. size:  17.2 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 25 - 290 m,
Distribution:  Southeastern Pacific: Endemic to Juan Fernández Is. (Ref. 89357).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 5-5; Dorsal soft rays (total): 21-23; Anal spines: 2-2
Biology:  Inhabits depths of about 150 m (Ref. 27569). Minimum depth from Ref. 58018. Present usually on whitish sandy bottoms where it is easily camouflaged (Ref. 89357).
