Distribution:  South America: small coastal drainages near Ilhéus, between the basins of rio Pardo and rio Contas, in southern Bahia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 1-1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-7; Anal soft rays: 6-6. Body width at anal-fin origin 16.6-18.8% SL; head length 30.7-33.0% SL; anal fin with 5 branched rays; maxillary barbel free, not coalesced with lower lip (Ref. 42856).
