Distribution:  South America: eastern Brazilian coastal basin (?).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 1-1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-7; Anal soft rays: 6-6. Head length 27.6-27.8% SL: teeth small and bicuspid, but the lateral cusp minute and difficult to see, not reaching half length of inner cusp (Ref. 42856).
