Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 155 - 910 m
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: New Jersey to Brazil, including the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea and Lesser Antilles.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 8-8; Dorsal soft rays (total): 19-19; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 19-19
Biology:  Taken from the bottom with temperatures ranging from 7.3 to 10°C (Ref. 51211).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 12 October 2018 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
