Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Smiliogastrinae
Max. size:  4.13 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: known only from a small, unnamed stream flowing through Minimaru Coloniya in Pallegama Estate near Galapitamada, Sri Lanka.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits small, rocky stream flowing through rice field and rubber plantation (Ref. 11966). Found under leaves and among emersed vegetation in shallow water (<20 cm) on the margins of the stream.
