Family:  Rivulidae (Rivulines), subfamily: Rivulinae
Max. size:  3.97 cm SL (male/unsexed); 3.58 cm SL (female)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater, non-migratory
Distribution:  South America: temporary pools of the middle rio Tocantins basin in Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-10; Anal soft rays: 14-16; Vertebrae: 28-29
Biology:  Not a seasonal killifish. Is very difficult to maintain in aquarium. Bottom spawner, 5 months incubation (Ref. 27139).

Threat to humans:  harmless
