Max. size:  14.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: Occurs in the south end of Lake Malawi, Shire River and Lake Malombe.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Seemingly restricted to the beds of the rootless Ceratophyllum and Najas found at a depth of about 10 m. Probably feeds from the sediment that has accumulated among the weeds. Its long gut may indicate that the species is an herbivore (Ref. 5595).
