Max. size:  27 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 91 - 400 m
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: southern Gulf of Guinea to southwest Africa (0°02'S to 18°45'S).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 12-12; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 4-5. Reddish in color with black specks on dorsolateral part of head, body, dorsal fin and caudal fin (Ref. 4313).
Biology:  Occurs over soft bottoms (Ref. 4510).
