Family:  Pseudochromidae (Dottybacks), subfamily: Pseudoplesiopinae
Max. size:  2.88 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 1 - 60 m
Distribution:  Pacific Ocean: Micronesia and Australia to American Samoa.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 1-1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 27-29; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 16-18. Caudal fin rounded or truncate to slightly emarginate (Ref. 50540). Description: Characterized by having two color varieties: pale yellow with pinkish head and base of dorsal and anal fins with blue flecks or overall brown with pink to reddish head; single lateral-line scale; greatest depth of body 21.3-28.2 % of SL (Ref. 90102).
Biology:  Found in rock and coral reef habitats, including surge channels, reef slopes and drop-offs (Ref. 50540). Cryptic and seldom seen (Ref 90102).
