Family:  Tetraodontidae (Puffers), subfamily: Tetraodontinae
Max. size:  21.92 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; brackish; marine; depth range 4 - 17 m
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: Costa Rica and Panama.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabit inshore waters to 4 m depth in brackish-water estuaries, amongst mangroves and river mouths.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 01 May 2008 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
