Family:  Botiidae (Pointface loaches), subfamily: Botiinae
Max. size:  21 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Indonesia (Sumatra and Borneo) and Malaya.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits lakes, rivers and streams, usually close to submerged trees or logs or under floating logs and houses (Ref. 56749). Found as well in upland streams over stony substrate (Ref. 56749). Feeds on worms, crustaceans and insects (Ref. 7020). Breeds in small streams in swamp forest (Ref. 56749).
