Max. size:  20 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 30 - 200 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Gulf of Aden, Oman, and Gulf of Oman. Western Central Pacific (Ref. 43248).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 2-2; Dorsal soft rays (total): 32-34; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 32-34. Caudal fin slightly rounded.
Biology:  One juvenile taken between 73-200 m.
IUCN Red List Status: Data deficient (DD); Date assessed: 29 January 2009 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
