Description: Characterized by greyish to nearly black color; body, pectoral fins and caudal fins with diffuse white spots and blotches; yellowish to white distal margins of soft dorsal, anal and caudal fins; unbranched soft fin rays; elongate body, depth 3.6-4.1 in SL; depressed head with dorsal eyes; dorsal mouth opening, vertical gape; skin at gill openings broadly connected to isthmus; poorly developed head spines; jaws and vomer with teeth; absence of palatine teeth (Ref. 90102). |
| Inhabits mud bottoms in estuaries. Also found in sand bottoms of estuaries and coastal waters in 2-25 m (Ref 90102). |
