Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Rio Jequitinhonha basin in Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 10-10. A series of dark small spots (smaller than eye diameter) on flank, slightly above the middle of the body depth; body ground cream in color, with dorsum finely dotted dorsally; ventrally with scarce dark dots; first ray of pectoral fin prolonging in a filament shorter than snout (Ref. 52473).
