Family:  Bathygadidae (Rattails)
Max. size:  27 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 892 - 1463 m
Distribution:  Western Pacific: Philippines and Indonesia to New Zealand, the Kermadecs and New Caledonia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  A benthic species found on the continental slope (Ref. 75154).
IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated (N.E.) Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Collected during the Hearst Expedition 2011 done off Batangas and Mindoro, off SW Luzon, otter trawl in 892-966 m (Ref. 95664). Also Ref. 75154.
