Distribution:  Asia: endemic to Lake Manguao, Palawan, Philippines.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  A benthic carnivore that feeds on crustaceans and fish (Ref. 13489).

Country info:  Described from the type (7.6 cm) and 5 cotypes (6.5 - 14.4 cm) collected by Day. Another 16 specimens were caught by Day in Lake Manguao in 1913 and it is very likely that the types were also taken from here (Ref. 439). Collected specimens in 2002 were from the littoral and open water zones of Lake Manguao, observed to be carnivorous nocturnal species (Ref. 050862).
