Family:  Balitoridae (River loaches)
Max. size:  7.1 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Mekong basin in Laos and Yunnan and Red River basin in Yunnan.
Diagnosis:  Slender body (body width 1.0-4.0 times wider than deep at dorsal-fin origin); one barbel at each corner of the mouth; belly scaled in front of anus (Ref. 27732); 6-7 large black blotches along back (Ref. 43281).
Biology:  Occurs in rapids.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 18 February 2011 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Known from Mekong in Xishuangbanna and Red River basins in Yunnan. Known from Runjinghong, Menghai of Yunnan Province(Ref.45625). Also Ref. 27732.
