Family:  Psilorhynchidae (Mountain carps)
Max. size:  8.1 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Myanmar.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in hill streams and rapids (Ref. 4832). Inhabits shallow running streams with pebbly and sandy bottom, usually associated with hard substrates (Ref. 41236).

Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Found in north Bengal and Assam, upper reaches of Jamuna in Himachal Pradesh and Gomti river in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh (Ref. 41236). Also Ref. 4832, 13244, 45255, 97593.
