Definition of Term

mimic
(English) An organism that closely resembles and thus benefits from another, usually unrelated, organism which is well protected from predation (e.g., by being poisonous to eat). (See also: predator, guild)
mimétique
(French) Organisme qui ressemble étroitement à un autre organisme qui, généralement, ne lui est pas apparenté, mais qui est ainsi protégé des prédateurs, l'autre organisme faisant souvent fuir ses ennemis (par exemple, en étant toxique). (See also: predator, guild)
mimético
(Portuguese) Organismo que se parece com outro e que beneficia desse facto. (See also: predator, guild)
