Comments: Introduced in the National Park of Valle Nuevo at the Cordillera Central. Mature specimen have been collected between September-December 2002 indicating adaptation and naturalization. No significant impact was observed on insects and invertebrates however, Poecilia dominicensis, a native fish once collected in 1996, which has disappeared in particular areas (although still being reported elsewhere).
