Myomeres 10-12+13-15=24-25; relatively few small spines on head and pectoral girdle; relatively slender body; 1-2 dorsal blotches after 3 mm; midlateral pigment absent before late flexion stage; nearly continuous marginal pigment along preanal finfold; discontinuous series of about 5-10 melanophores on ventral margin of tail in preflexion stage. Pigmentation: Preflexion: 3 prominent dorsal blotches decreasing to 1 or 2 on trunk after 3.6 mm; present or absent on gular region; 1 on angular; dorsally on gas bladder and gut; on isthmus and ventral margin of gut; on margin of preanal finfold; few, large anteriorly, in discontinuous ventral series on tail. Flexion-postflexion: On snout by 5.8 mm; over midbrain and on opercle by 7.9 mm; on jaws by 9.3 mm; dorsolaterally stripe from snout to caudal fin by 11 mm; ventrolaterally anteriorly on tail by 9.3 mm; 0-few on pectoral fin and pelvic fin; few on first dorsal fin. Sequence of fin development: principal caudal fin rays, pectoral fin, pelvic fin and first dorsal fin, second dorsal fin and anal fin, procurrent caudal fin rays.
