Dorsal spines (total): 1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 49-53; Anal spines: 0; Anal soft rays: 38 - 43; Vertebrae: 56 - 59. Gill membranes fused ventrally to isthmus. Shoulder with an ocellated, black, eye-sized spot. Lateral line short with 9.7 (6-14) pored scales.
