背棘 (總數): 4; 背的軟條 (總數): 9-10; 臀棘 0; 臀鰭軟條: 8 - 9. Preopercular spine short. In male, 1st and 2nd dorsal spines elongate and filamentous; anal fin membrane with many dark oblique lines. In the female, the posterior half of the 1st dorsal fin black. In the female and young male, marbled brown-colored area on lateral side of body rimmed with many small white circles. Attains 16 cm SL.
前鰓蓋骨棘短。 在雄魚,第一與第二背鰭棘延長與絲狀的; 臀鰭薄膜有許多深色的斜線。 在母魚,第一背鰭的後半段黑色中。 在母魚與幼魚雄魚中,在側面的身體側邊上的大理石花紋的褐色區域有許多小的白色圓圈邊了。 達到 16 公分 SL 。
Inhabits sand and mud bottoms in coastal areas.
