Épines dorsales (Total): 12 - 21; Rayons mous dorsaux (Total): 6-9; Épines anales 0; Rayons mous anaux: 23 - 27. Snout long, tubular. Lower jaw projecting forward beyond upper one. No barbel on lower jaw. A short barbel is present on the posterior end of the upper jaw. Branchial membranes free from isthmus.
Minimum depth reported at 15 m (Ref. 56557).
