Espinas dorsales (total): 0; Radios blandos dorsales (total): 75; Espinas anales 0; Radios blandos anales: 45. Small specimens greyish brown to blackish with a pale yellowish tinge; larger specimens orange or yellow with mottled brown markings.
A rare species found in rocky areas (Ref. 34024). Reported to occur in rock pools (Ref. 9003). Possibly nocturnal (Ref. 9003).
