Etymology: Neostethus: Greek,neos = new + Greek, stetho, stethion = brest; literal = to prick a little breast (Ref. 45335);  djajaorum: Named in honor of the Rachmat Djaja and family, for their kindness and extraordinary support of the author's fieldwork in Sulawesi (Ref. 44355).

Like N. robertsi and N. palawanensis, has a large second ctenactinium that is bifid distally, but distinguished from those species by having a bone larger and more distinctly claw-shaped, and extent of a bony projection and fleshy profile on the ventral margin of the first ctenactinium that abuts the claw (Ref. 44355).
