Épines dorsales (Total): 2; Rayons mous dorsaux (Total): 9-11. Soft rays on first dorsal fin 9-11; steep, blunt snout naked on venter; relatively weak suborbital ridge; moderately long, thin barbel. Dorsal spine and soft ray counts above taken from first dorsal fin.
