পৃষ্ঠীয় নরম পাখনা দন্ড (মোট ): 9; পায়ূর নরম পাখনা্তুন্ড: 7; কশেরুকা : 34. Distinguished from its congeners by the following characters: lower pectoral ray count (22 vs. 23-28); wider head, width 4.1 in SL (vs. 4.2-5.3); short snout, 3.7 in HL (vs. 2.8-3.5); shorter disc, 6.2 in SL (vs. 4.2-5.2); and possession of irregular dark bars on the body (Ref. 75094).
