Tia cứng vây hậu môn 3; Tia mềm vây hậu môn: 7 - 8. This species has a pair of distinct spines on chin; proximal-middle radial of first anal-fin pterygiophore straight and with long, narrow cone-shaped hollow; well developed lateral wing; anal-fin rays III, 7 (rarely 8); pectoral-fin rays 14 (rarely 13); body depth 36-41% SL; lateral line scales 46-50; 6-7 transverse scale rows above lateral line; 21-22 gill rakers on lower arm (Ref. 76883).
