Rückenflossenstacheln (insgesamt): 3; Rückenflossenweichstrahlen (insgesamt): 26-27; Afterflossenstacheln 3; Afterflossenweichstrahlen: 15 - 16; Wirbelzahl: 26. This species distinguished by the following characters: 26-27 segmented dorsal-fin rays; 15-16 segmented anal fin rays; 41-43 scales in lateral line series; emarginate to strongly emarginate caudal fin; when preserved, dark grayish brown spot on opercular flap, upper part of head and body dark grayish brown, the rest abruptly pale yellowish brown; dark spots on dorsal fin absent (Ref. 81967).
