Adults feed on fishes and mysids, Crangon antarcticus and Chorismus antarcticus (Ref. 5192). Spawning from end of summer to early winter and hatching occurs throughout winter. Eggs large, 2.4-3.4 mm in diameter, bright red and benthic (Ref. 5192). Synchronous spawner (Ref. 50743). Larval pelagic phase is long (Ref. 35742).
