পৃষ্ঠীয় কাঁটা (মোট ): 0; পৃষ্ঠীয় নরম পাখনা দন্ড (মোট ): 14-17; পায়ূ কাঁটা 0; পায়ূর নরম পাখনা্তুন্ড: 28 - 31. Black in color with dusky pigmentation on median fins; pectoral and pelvic fins are colorless (Ref. 3988).

Mesopelagic, adults found in 500-700 m depth (Ref. 4470). Living on or near the bottom, probably moves in schools (Ref. 37473).
