Recorded from photos taken from Pasil Fish Port I, Cebu, 11 April 2000 (JPAG 305, female, size unkonwn), possibly this species, but without the black tip to the first dorsal (Ref. 47737). Carcharhinidae Carcharhinus longimanus (Poey, 1861) M native  Pating (Tagalog), Pating (Ivatan)  400 cm TL male/unsexed  Recorded from Lanuza Bay (Ref. 104756). Presence in tne waters of the country was confirmed, but its absence or apparent rarity from the markets is surprising (commonly landed at fish markets in nearby countries) (Ref. 47737). Also Ref. 244, 6871, 9997, 110893, 121724. Occurrence: Lanuza Bay, Surigao del Sur; Manila Bay (?); Sibuyan Island, Romblon Prov. (?); Sitankai, Sulu Province (?). 
Lamnidae Carcharodon carcharias (Linnaeus, 1758) Br, M, Fi, Pr native  Pating (Tagalog)  640 cm TL male/unsexed  Occurs in Mindanao and Palawan (Ref. 43278). Found no other Philippine records following those reported in Herre (1953, Ref. 280), but is expected to occur in the area (Ref. 47737). Also Ref. 247, 13574, 110893.
