Type locality of Hypanus berthalutzae, Pernambuco, Fernando de Noronha, Praia do Porto. Known from the mouth of Amazon River, with confirmed occurrence at Parcel de Manuel Luiz in Maranhao to Sao Paulo State coast, besides Fernando de Noronha and Rocas Atoll oceanic archipelagos at northeastern Brazil, being delimited at its southernmost distribution by the influence of the La Plata River. Occurring in localities up to 250 km off the coast (Fernando de Noronha), but usually at the continental shelf in marine environments (Ref. 123757). |
