Present from the Gulf coasts of Florida (Ref. 35664) to the continental shelf waters off the northeastern United States (Ref. 37512), off New England to Georges Bank (Ref. 114074), along the USA Atlantic coast to the Gulf of St. Lawrence (greatest abundance is between Cape Hatteras and Maine) (Ref. 53006).
