Known from the Shur River, Kol River, Mehran River, Khurgu and Faryab hot sulphuric springs in the Hormuzgan drainage, southern Iran. Drought poses a major threat to its survival. Water from the hot sulphuric springs is used for medical purpose (e.g., Khurgu hot sulphuric spring) by local people and they may contaminate it using chemical materials (Ref. 96446).
