Abundance:  
Comments: Abundant in shallow silty depressions in northwest Hecate Strait (summer). Large spawning aggregations occur in Skidegate Inlet (late winter). Rarely in the Strait of Georgia and off southern Vancouver Island. First definite B.C. specimen was taken off San Juan Harbour in 1928 and deposited in the Royal Ontario Museum at Toronto (Ref. 4925). Taken with hook and line by game fishers (Ref. 11007). Combined daily limit for all flounder and sole species caught is 8 (Ref. 11007).
