secondary freshwater fishes
(English) Secondary division freshwater fishes are tolerant of brackish waters but normally occur in inland aquatic systems rather than the sea; capable of occasionally crossing narrow sea barriers (Lepisosteidae, most Cyprinodontidae, Poeciliidae, Cichlidae, Synbranchidae and others).
