Belongs to the Oreoglanis siamensis species group as it possesses a distinct median notch on the posterior margin of the lower lip. Can be distinguished from other members of the genus in having a combination of the following characters: long nasal barbel reaching to anterior orbital margin, maxillary barbel with pointed tip, tip of pectoral fin not reaching pelvic-fin origin, caudal peduncle length 16.7-22.6 % SL, eye diameter 9.8-14.3 % HL, and an emarginate caudal fin (Ref. 83406). Description: Dorsal fin rays i,5 or i,6; anal fin rays iii,3,i, i,4 or i,5; pectoral fin rays i,17, i,18 , i,19 or i,20; pelvic fin rays i,5. Paired fins greatly enlarged, forming ovoid adhesive disc with body (Ref. 83406). |
