| Remarks | Founder stocks (1st collection) were collected from Lake Manzala (30 breeders), creeks close to Port Said (25 breeders), lakes around Alexandria (70 fingerlings). 2nd collection were from the Nile river channels near Abassa (60 breeders) and the Sweetwater canal of Ismailia (90 breeders). Commonly called `Egypt strain'. |
